    Registered on the UNESCO World Heritage sites list in 1991, the Banks of the Seine provide an ideal showcase of the evolution of Paris and its history. Constructed on the grounds of the old Orsay Train Station, Musèe d’Orsay is home to France’s national collection from the impressionist, postimpressionist and art nouveau movements spanning the 1840s through 1914. The Petit Palais was built for the Exposition Universelle of 1900 and houses the City of Paris Museum of Fine Arts, complete with stunning decorative murals, stained glass and mosaics.
